Ok, I have literally done everything else I can think of to keep from studying except BLOG so here I am..expiring my last option to avoid spanish II (which will be the death of me).
As I'm sitting at my counter daydreaming of everything but my spanish test I keep coming back to my roommates. If you told me freshman year I would be living with Kathleen Kirkland, Amanda Bridges, and Katie Puckett I would have probably laughed.
As plans changed and last year came to a close we had all decided to live together on Cedar Lane.
I can honestly say after living with them for only 4 months now that they are one of the biggest blessings God has given me since I've been in college.
Don't get me wrong I LOVE my other college roomates..no one could have rocked freshman year and been there more for me than Meri Scott. We survived rush, meeting friends, first bar experiences, mastering shuttle routes, Matt's hell week(she knows what I mean), and 1000 more things. I do not think, actually I KNOW I would not have made it without her. Sophomore year Lauren Cassilly and I got along perfect and she is such an awesome role model. She is a devoted Christian AND devoted studier PLUS an amazing cook. I learned so very much from her and I love her for that.
Buttttt this year has been totally different because before move in day I hardly knew Kathleen or Amanda and now I consider them two of my very best friends, two of the people that I know I will never lose contact with after graduation. The four of us have some how worked out our on little groove between laundry time, dishes, and studying it seems to be a perfect fit (most of the time). I am very thankful for how much they love my dog-which seems cheesy I KNOW but when you have a 70 pound--that's right folks SEVENTY frickin pounds--dog in the house it would just drive you crazy if you didn't love him(and still sometimes does even when you do). They have helped with all the responsibility of him a ton..and that means the world to me because lets face it you all know how oBsEsSeD I am with him. They have made every single aspect of my life better; from always having someone to eat with, watch a movie, True Blood marathons, baking cookies and instead eating the dough, Maxx, randomly deciding to go out, opinions on outfits, listening to each other whine and complain, sharing wine, I could literally list for hours but I think you got the drift.
I guess this was on my mind as I saw everyone's "Thanksgiving Thankful" post on facebook . I just wanted to share one of the many many many things I am thankful for this season with you. I hope you all love you on your roommate(s) a little and realize that it is very special thing to literally share a home with someone that is not family....but to love them like they are anyway.
