Engaged

November 28, 2012. I'm sorry it has taken me so long to write this, life has been a whirl-wind since then. Since the night Matt proposed I have taken 4 exams, moved out of my house in Starkville, moved to Ridgeland, graduated college, started a job, and slowly begun to plan a wedding. Needless to say, it's been busy..and I've enjoyed all of it. I am ready for Christmas and the chance to celebrate with my family! I know several people have asked both of us, so I wanted to write out the engagement story to share with all of our dear friends.

11.28.2012
Matt and I had been out to dinner and he dropped me off at home for the night. After he left I was getting ready for bed and chatting with my roommate, Kathleen. Matt called to say he was stopping by with Rooster. I told him I was about to go to sleep, so I didn't understand why he was determined to stop back by. **(About a year ago Matt and I started a journal that we would write back and forth in. We would take turns writing the other one a sweet note, or just taping a picture in. Naturally, Matt never wrote me back from last September.) When he got their with Rooster he casually mentioned he had written me back in our journal. He was determined that I sit down and read it immediately, which I didn't understand. I finally sat down, with no idea I was about to read the sweetest love letter I could ever imagine and my life was about to change forever. The letter was amazing, but I still had no idea what was coming. The last line simply said, "I think it is time we ended this dating thing and move on to bigger and better things" with an arrow pointing for me to flip the page. Somehow, I am still clueless as to what is coming.
The next page said "Will You Marry Me?" and the center square of the journal was hollowed out with a ring in the middle.
Matt tried to get down on one knee but I was to busy screaming and hugging him.
The moment was perfect. Simply perfect.
We've been together since we were 16 years old, and now we're going to be married. I could not be happier. I am the luckiest girl in the world.

Thank you to all of our sweet sweet friends who have shared these last seven years with us, as well as the last few weeks as an engaged couple. We appreciate and love all of you and we cannot wait to share this next part of our life with y'all.

Cheers to becoming Mrs. Matthew Constantine Asters.

Stay tuned for wedding updates  : )

Annie, she was the first person we told. We had to Facetime her.

I can testify to this, Maxx is by far the best present I've ever gotten.

Happy Saturday :)

Sunday, September 16, 2012

Sometimes it is just nice to RELAX, which is exactly what I did all weekend. Friday I went to eat with my mom and some of her sweet friends, Saturday we had a "yard sale"...enough said. Afterwards I came back to Starkville to watch football with the boyfriend, and then I called it an early night.
Sunday has been successfully spent doing almost nothing besides playing with my sweet doggies and my sweet roomie Amanda. I am most certainly going to miss lazy roommate days after I graduate. The list of things I am going to miss is terrifying- but luckily is weighed out by the list of things I am so excited about.
One of which would be my job.
I haven't really announced it by any means, and no one but a few close friends even know BUT....... in December I will be moving to Jackson to work for Eat Jackson! I am BEYOND thrilled. It is going to be such an exciting adventure. They have got alot of AMAZING events and plans in the works, all of which you can follow and get updates on from their website www.eatjackson.com. There is spot on the website to put your email address to you can keep up with everything going on and WIN free food on Fridays!
(FREE FOOD, I mean come on...go give them your email)
There will be many, many, many more updates to come, especially as I get started on the whole apartment, furniture, decorating thing...and of course everything else that comes with being a
"big kid" as Matt calls it.
So, stay tuned for mine and Maxx's big move updates.
**Thank God for my huge guard dog, the only reason I am not scared of moving to Jackson alone..God knew what he was doing when the Oktibbeha County Humane Society tricked me into taking that little guy home with me.

Speaking of Maxx, my favorite topic, check out my first Fall purchase for him. (Side note--I am obsessed with Halloween, my dog, and Fall...the three of which are a deadly combination. Last year he had TWO different costumes..don't judge.)

Thanks for stopping by!!

Check the PUMPKIN FLOWER collar. Yes, Maxx is a boy. I do not care, there happen to be no manly fall collars. I blame Petsmart.

Collar can be purchased here

Just modeling last year's costumes. Normal day at our house.

Something to share...

CILANTRO CHICKEN.
(This is super super easy and it's Matt's absolute favor thing I make)

1 can Rotel
1 can stewed tomatoes
1 pack of Taco Seasoning
1/4 of an onion diced
2 tbs of cilantro chopped finely
2-4 chicken breast
Pinch of salt
Pinch of red pepper

Just throw it all in a crock pot for 4-5 hours and wah-lah amazing Cilantro Chicken.
Can be served over rice, or plain with black beans and corn..just whatever you're craving!

**I sometimes chop up some fresh bell peppers, tomatoes, or jalapeƱos..just depending on if I have time or not.

This is super simple and easy, and everyone loves it.

Especially Matt.

(I forgot to take pictures, I'll be better next time..promise!)

Enjoy, -MS

Something to think about..

Tuesday, August 21, 2012

My life lately in pictures.

Annie girls bid day. She was beyond excited, and she has an amazing four years ahead of her :)

Betsy and I waited so sweetly in the rain to cheer Annie on...

Beachin' it up. Don't know what I would do OR where I would be without this boy.

Bay fishing for RED FISH. I'm the only one who caught one "big enough" to keep. Get at mehh

My sweet grandparents. Missing them now that I'm not home as much...Couldn't ask for better christian role models.

This might be my new favorite picture. Interesting fact about Betsy and Matt--Betsy actually went on my first date with Matt with me because I was nervous. Ohhh to be 16 again..

That's all for now.

I don't know where to start. It has been so long. My life has been a whirlwind of changes since my last post. I just wrapped up the busiest summer of my life, and I am on the brink of finishing my degree. Quite frankly, I am scared to death.
Scared of finding, or rather not finding, a job. Scared of finding a new home, in a new city, alone. Well not all alone, I will of course have Maxx. Yes, Maxx and I will be relocating HOPEFULLY in the next few months to a new place, with new dreams, new ambitions, and a new outlook on where life is taking us. Atleast I do I have my sweet dog to accompany me; and a mother who is recently retired and can be at my doorstep within a few hours of my hysterical phone calls. Yes, I am very thankful for that. I do not think I could move if I didn't know she could come stay and help me whenever.
I finished an internship this summer that I could talk about for days. I loved it. It was one of the best decisions I have made, as it affirmed what I think I would like to do with my life. Someone posted, "life is simply, just do what makes you happy and be with who makes you happy" and I think I have those figured out now.
On top of the internship I did an unreal amount of summer school to make sure I graduated in December. I'm a little done out with school right now, just counting the days to December 15th.
Another little happy note on my current state of life, Matt and I have our SIX year anniversary in two days. Six years. It's a little surreal, I feel like it was yesterday we were sophomores at Tupelo High School. Now we're seniors in college. Life flies by when you're having fun.
Annie has also started college, I cannot handle it. She lives about five minutes from me, and let me just tell you after three years of being 45 minutes apart I am loving having her here. Especially since I might be leaving in a few months and I am trying to soak up as much sister time as possible. We went to PineLake this morning, and decided to make it our goal to go to church together every Sunday this semester. I'm thrilled about it. There is no relationship like that with your sister. She is one of the biggest blessings I've ever received from the big guy upstairs.
Keep my sweet baby in your prayers as she goes thru rush and starts her first semester of college in the next few weeks; I know she'll be fine- I have complete faith in her.

I think that's all on me for now, see y'all back here soon. I promise next time it won't take so long.

I've been MIA for quite a while now, and for that I am sorry. Life has been busy, and I have been enjoying every minute of it. This was my first semester to take 18 hours and it is not an easy task..at all. I am missing the days of 12 sweet hours. This is the last week of classes and next week is finals.
I am so happy, my break won't be long though because Maymester starts May 9th..and ya girl will be here taking a class. I'm thinking it won't be to bad because Kathleen, my sweet roomie, will be taking it with me. Cheers to that! I hope y'all's lives are going as wonderful as mine is.
This weekend my baby sister was here and let me just tell you man did we have fun. She brought her sweet best friend Miller with her, they are by far two of my favorite people. We had a blast at Super Bulldog Weekend.
I finished up by spending my Sunday cleaning and doing laundry--I was feeling so sweet and generous I even cleaned Matt's room (vacuumed and everything) anddddd then cleaned his and Clayton's kitchen. I will say I felt I owed him the kitchen part for cooking me a delish dinner consisting of baked Tilapia.Major YUM.
I'm ending the night with homework and a little break to tell y'all I'm still here!
Many post are to come this summer as I start the anxiety filled job hunt...which leads to an apartment  hunt...which leads to furniture and ect....As scary as all that is, I AM SO EXCITED. I love college, don't get me wrong, but I am very excited and anxiously ready for the next chapter.
I'll keep you updated.

Love to you all.

Until Next Time.

Spring break was amazing. Simply amazing.
I went to Destin with Shelby, MK, Laura, Elizabeth, and Hannah and it was one of the best trips to count.
I went home Wednesday so I could go shopping with Matt's mom on Thursday in Memphis.
The rest of the weekend was spent with my sweet momma and sister.
I hope your break was as good as mine!
Now back to reality as I brace my self for the next six weeks of school then Maymester. This girl has looked at the schedule and will be a Mississppi State graduate in Decemeber.
Holllaaa Starkville.
It's so exciting but so scary to think I am done in nine short months. Stay posted as the rest of 2012 unfolds. So much happens this year.
Annie will be coming to MSU. I will be leaving MSU. I have to find a job. I have to find a new home.I grow up. Clayton and Lauren's wedding festivities begin. I hopefully will have a new baby cousin. So much to look forward to and thank God for.
Bring it on 2012...I'm ready for yaaa.

(Here's a few spring break pics)

It has been one long weekend, starting with Thursday which was amazing.
Matt and I took Rooster and Maxx to North Farm to go swimming. Rooster loves the water, Maxx just prances around the edges barely getting his feet wet..he's a little bit of a baby when it comes to new things.

Then after that Amanda and I went to the bin with some friends and had the best afternoon outside, it just felt so good. The weather was perfect.
All this was great until I woke up Friday morning feeling terrible, after getting sick and having fever I decided to go to the doctor. I swear I need an immune system transplant. I'm so puny.
I felt awful all weekend.
Today I finally felt a little better and after eating some food and getting a few things done I was almost back to normal.
Tonight Matt cooked me a wonderful filet and green beans. It was delicious.
After dinner I was feeling much better and a little restless so Matt and I took Rooster and Maxx on a little walk/jog.
We did good and I hope I can slowly get back into the workout routine. In high school I worked out all the time and I remember how good it felt. Since college I have literally had no desire to set foot inside the gym. None.
Buttttt now that I am on the downhill slope with only Summer and Fall semesters left I decided to get back into the swing of it.
I'll keep you all posted on how long I keep this up. For now here are my newly found "Pinterest Insperations."
I hope they inspire you too.
